Carex acutiformis (Lesser pond sedge) is a vigorous native sedge of ponds and streams with black seed heads and coarse greyish green foliage. It’s tough and duck proof and quite invasive, therefore not suitable for smaller pond areas and best confined to large wildlife ponds.
