Eleocharis palustris (Spike rush, Painter’s brush)

Eleocharis palustris (Spike rush, Painter’s brush) is a native spike rush with tufted flowers rather like a painters brush.

Eleocharis palustris (Spike rush, Painter’s brush) is a native rush with spikes of pale brown flowers held above green grassy foliage, giving a very natural look for smaller wildlife ponds. It’s quite quick to spread and bulk up and is an easy plant to grow, without being too invasive.
