Eutrochium (Eupatorium) cannabinum, or Hemp agrimony is a common hedgerow plant in this area and is great for bees, butterflies and hoverflies. Flat heads of pale purple flowers are produced on tall strong stems, rarely needing staking. Everybody knows it as Eupatorium but the busybody taxonomists have recently changed this to Eutrochium. I also keep an improved hybrid with stronger colour in the flowers and stems, listed separately.
