Primula japonica Postford White is an old selection of P japonica with white flowers and a yellow/orange eye and is often sold as P.j. alba. All P japonica varieties hybridise easily to give a range of colours from crimson to white. This Primula contracts back to a very small rosette when dormant. These Primulas are not suitable for standing in water within the pond, but can cope with quite wet ground conditions provided that the crown and leaves are not submerged. Their ideal position would be light shade and moist soil.
