Sagittaria graminea (Oar leaved arrowhead) is native to the Eastern USA and will grow in areas up to 30cm deep. It can be quite rampant in warm shallow muddy margins and I don’t recommend it for smaller natural ponds, the native species (S sagittifolia) would be a much better choice. Flowers are small and white with yellow central bosses, and the overwintering turions are quite small and pale.
