Iris versicolor Rowden Cadenza

Iris versicolor Rowden Cadenza is an unusual smaller cultivar whose flowers have strong claret veining on a white background

Iris versicolor Rowden Cadenza: The Rowden irises are a series bred by Galen and John Carter at Rowden gardens. Their original nursery is now sadly closed, but their legacy lives on! Cadenza has dark pink/claret veins and yellow throat on a white background. It’s quite a bit shorter and less vigorous and has narrower leaves than many other I versicolor varieties, and does make me wonder whether there is some other genetic component too!
