Lobelia siphilitica (Blue cardinal flower) has light green leaves forming a tight rosette in winter then produces erect stems with blue tubular flowers in late summer. The unhappy name refers to an ancient belief that it was a cure, though I’m making no assumptions if you order it….. The stems are quite lax so it is helpful to grow it with something stiffer nearby to act as support. I have stocked these for years and sold very few, so it may be discontinued soon.
