Myriophyllum spicatum (Spiked water milfoil)

Myriophyllum spicatum (Spiked Milfoil) is a native oxygenator with soft feathery foliage. Available Spring to Autumn.

Myriophyllum spicatum (Spiked water milfoil) is a native oxygenator and can grow at great depths provided that the water is clear. Soft feathery foliage with a fishbone construction clothes the long branched stems, and the spiky brown flowers protrude from the surface, giving it its moniker. It’s later to start into growth than most oxygenators and isn’t generally available until mid May. In earth bottomed ponds it can be prolific, but it isn’t a problem plant when planted into baskets in a liner pond. We don’t normally keep this one in pots at all.
