Myriophyllum verticillatum (Whorl-leaf water milfoil) is a very attractive oxygenator which is extremely similar to spiked milfoil, but has rather longer leaflets. It’s generally only available in late Spring and early summer and has soft feathery foliage with a fishbone construction. It won’t cope with quite such deep water as spiked milfoil and is much less common. We don’t normally keep this variety in pots at all.
