Cardamine pratensis (Cuckoo flower, Lady’s smock)

Cardamine pratensis (Cuckoo flower, Lady’s smock) is a dainty native with pink flowers in late Spring.

Cardamine pratensis (Cuckoo flower, Lady’s smock) is a small native plant of marshes and water meadows. It sends up heads of pale pink or lilac flowers. Leaves are pinnate with rounded leaflets, the plant can be propagated from leaf cuttings. This is a plant that may look very small once washed and packed as it is very fine and has little root. Lovely for planting into damp meadows where it will naturalise and spread, but is also happy growing in a pot in very shallow water.
