Pontederia cordata lanceolata (Giant Pickerel Weed)

Pontederia cordata lanceolata (Giant Pickerel Weed) is simply bigger in all aspects and therefore more suited to ponds on a larger scale, but its characteristics are just the same as the ordinary species. It’s a great architectural plant and flowers late in the season; the lovely blue bottle brush flowers attract all types of pollinators and it’s fairly duckproof once it gets going. Huge oar shaped leaves provide plenty of interest over a long season.
