Pontederia cordata lanceolata (Giant Pickerel Weed)

Pontederia cordata lanceolata (Giant Pickerel Weed) is simply bigger in all aspects and therefore more suited to ponds on a larger scale, but its characteristics are just the same as the ordinary species. It’s a great architectural plant and flowers late in the season; the lovely blue bottle brush flowers attract all types of pollinators and it’s fairly duckproof once it gets going. Huge oar shaped leaves provide plenty of interest over a long season.

AVAILABILITY

Due to their height and fragility, it is uneconomical for us to send small numbers of potted plants, so an extra charge is built into the price. Please ask for a quote if you require larger numbers.
