Schoenoplectus (Scirpus) albescens (Candy striped rush)

Schoenoplectus (Scirpus) albescens (Candy striped rush) is a tall bulrush with fine pin stripe variegation longitudinally on the tubular leaves. It’s particularly good against a dark background where the effect is more noticeable and is very architectural.

This plant is very tall and easily damaged in transit, so potted plants are expensive to send. Please note that they still need to be cut back for shipping as they can be 2 metres tall. Best time to purchase is in early Spring for this reason, when they are usually discounted.

This plant will rarely be available in potted form by mail order direct from the website but is usually available at the nursery in small numbers. If you are interested in obtaining it by mail order, please email us and we can often oblige. An additional packing and carriage charge may be necessary.
