Primula bulleesiana hybrids

Primula bulleyana+beesiana hybrids are often labelled with the cod Latin name P bulleesiana, these are hybrids of P bulleyana and P beesiana and give a range of colours from red through orange to yellow. The reds are more unusual so don’t be thinking that they will all turn out like the one in the foreground of the picture! These plants do not have a large rosette out of season and will look quite small when purchased as dormant plants. These Primulas are not suitable for standing in water within the pond, but can cope with quite wet ground conditions provided that the crown and leaves are not submerged. Their ideal position would be light shade and moist soil.
