Aponogeton desertorum is an unusual species of water hawthorn with twin vanilla scented terminal flowers. It is less vigorous than its more commonly seen cold water cousin A distachyos and it needs a warm and shallow location to succeed. The leaves are smaller and it will not tolerate as much depth.
