Hesperantha coccinea (Cape Lily), previously Schizostylis coccinea, is the brightest scarlet and will definitely stand out when it flowers between September and December. This attractive plant is very late to flower and can sometimes be flowering at Christmas here. It tolerates a wide range of ground conditions from moderately dry to very damp, but not waterlogged soil.
