Lysimachia vulgaris (Common Loosestrife)

Lysimachia vulgaris (Common Loosestrife) is a native loosestrife with yellow flowers.

Lysimachia vulgaris (Common Loosestrife) is a native loosestrife, not strictly a true marginal plant but will happily tolerate growing in shallow water provided that the leaves are not submerged. However, it does best in damp rich soil where it can spread quite rapidly. Yellow flowers spring from the leaf axils, providing nectar for pollinators.
