Marsilea mutica (Nardoo, banded water clover) is a southern hemisphere species of the water fern, or water four leaf clover, and has attractive light coloured marbling patterns on its floating leaves. It does best in rich soil in shallow water. It’s quite late to start into growth, but sends out long runners quite rapidly when it gets going. Its growth habit means that it won’t stay in the pot very long but will ramble about EVERYWHERE!
