Nymphaea Escarboucle

Nymphaea Escarboucle is one of the oldest red cultivars and still one of the best for large ponds and lakes. Escarboucle can mean “Star” or “Carbuncle” – take your pick! This lily produces relatively few but very large leaves and strong almost dayglow dark pink/red flowers. It becomes quite large in time but grows relatively slowly and can’t be divided or propagated as quickly as most. It’s becoming hard to get hold of and may only be available occasionally.
