Pontederia cordata Pink Pons is a sport of the species. I think that the breeder of this plant got a little over-excited when naming it, as the flowers are really halfway between pink and blue, but it certainly is a little different; the stems seem to grow at a shallow angles, so it is less upright and more useful in windy spots or where height is an issue. The leaves are broad and often stripy.
