Iris pseudacorus Holden’s Child is a really good hybrid variety, reportedly from Iris pseudacorus Holden Clough, but you wouldn’t believe it since it has lovely dark purple flowers with a strong yellow to orange netted throat marking. It has the added advantage that though it is a strong fast growing plant, it won’t come up everywhere from seed as it is sterile.
