Carex riparia Variegata (Variegated pond sedge)

Carex riparia Variegata (Variegated pond sedge): I sometimes wonder if this really is the same species, as it is much shorter, more delicate and very much less vigorous. The new leaf growth is almost completely white and develops green margins gradually as the season progresses. The black seed heads contrast nicely. It always seems odd to me that it’s not more popular, though it is a little expensive, being slow to propagate.
