Houttuynia cordata Chameleon (Variegated orange peel plant) is a rapidly spreading plant in damp soil, however, when confined to a pot in water and kept away from its neighbours, it can be easily managed and has very attractive multicoloured foliage smelling of (you guessed it) orange peel, and white flowers. Nowhere near as invasive as its plain cousin above and a much safer choice. Plant just above water level.
