Orontium aquaticum (Golden club)

Orontium aquaticum (Golden club) is a slow growing specimen plant with blue-green leaves reminiscent of Hostas; the peculiar flowers are in the form of a spadix of white with a yellow tip. It will tolerate quite a deep planting position but does not in my mind justify its description on many lists as a deep water plant. To me it looks best planted at water level so that the handsome leaves can be enjoyed. Put it in a large basket and wait..
