Typha gracilis (Graceful Reed Mace) is a shorter and more slender species with light brown pokers. Useful where the effect is required but height of other species is an issue. It’s just as vigorous and invasive as the other reed mace species with the same sharp roots, so protect pond liner by standing the basket on a slate or tile.
