Sparganium erectum (Branched Bur Reed) is the most common of the native bur-reeds. It is very similar to unbranched bur-reed and is a vigorous native plant with ribbed leaves and spiky white flowers followed by spiky seed capsules. Good for larger ponds and for wildlife but a bit frisky for small ponds.
