Mimulus cupreus Red Emperor is more compact than M guttatus and has toothed bright green leaves and prolific red trumpet flowers throughout the summer. Although it is perennial it is usually treated as a bedding plant and discarded at the end of the season, since fresh plants will perform much better than old ones the following season. Best in full sun, do not submerge the foliage.
